RSGD 75MM: THE SELF-LEARNING SOFT STARTER FOR 3-PHASE AC MOTORS UP TO 55kW

Self-learning algorithm reduces complexity, saving set-up time without compromising product performance.

Lainate, July 2016 - Carlo Gavazzi Automation, the international electronics group with activities in the design, manufactureand marketing of electronic equipment, today presents its new compact 75mm housing RSGD soft starter.

The RSGD is the most easy-to-use soft starter for 3-phase induction AC motors, as only 3 settings are required.
The new self-learning algorithm has been adapted to work with different applications without needing to adjust the initialtorque setting, therefore resulting in an almost plug’n’play device. Integrated overload protection and PTC input providemore protection to the motors, helping our customers to save money and space in the electrical panel.

The RSGD is also equipped with a Modbus 2-wire serial communication protocol which can be interfaced to different PLCsfor enhanced control and diagnostics of the system status. Instantaneous variables for energy consumption, voltage, currentand other electrical variables can be easily communicated to a PLC for real-time monitoring of the motor condition. Internalalarm counters, as well as a datalog of the last 32 starts performed, result in easier troubleshooting in case of any problem.

“The soft starters on the market require a number of settings and adjustments that are complex to understand and timeconsuming for many users. The RSGD solves this problem because it only requires 3 simple and easy to understandsettings,” Jason Demicoli, International Product Manager, states. “When it comes to high efficiency motors, the settings alsoneed to be adjusted due to the high current required by these motors. With the RSGD this is not a problem since the softstarter will automatically adjust the start parameters to make sure the motor is started in the best possible way.”

Developed by our competence centre in Malta, this soft starter has been specifically designed for pumps, fans andcompressors in markets such as Water Treatment, Agriculture, Building Automation and HVAC.

PD30ET: THE NEW PHOTOELECTRIC STAINLESS STEEL SENSOR FAMILY

Designed to withstand harsh environmental conditions.

Lainate, May 2016 - Carlo Gavazzi Automation, the international electronics group with activities in the design, manufacture and marketing of electronic equipment, today launches its new series of stainless steel photoelectric sensors, the PD30ET series.

The main feature of these new sensors is the robust AISI316L stainless steel housing which, in combination with the highperformance plastic materials such as PEEK, PPSU, PES and FKM, guarantees outstanding resistance to high-pressure wash-down, aggressive cleaning agents and disinfectants, which are frequently used in the Food & Beverage industry.

Additional important features, such as IP69K protection degree and ECOLAB certification, make these sensors highly reliable and resistant even in the harshest environments.

“Our intention is to further expand our product range with this high-end sensor, able to meet harsh environmental requirements in cleaning processes where high temperature and high pressure are demanded, as well as the use of aggressive cleaning agents,” Torben Rochat, International Product Manager, states.

Developed by our competence centre in Denmark, this range of sensors has been specifically designed for applications in markets such as Food & Beverage, Materials handling, Packaging and Agriculture.
